During the pandemic period traffic is lower, people use less public transport because of capacity restrictions and their own fear of contracting virus. Therefore a number of countries present their position that after Covid-19 people will use mainly private cars what can lead to overloading the post-COVID road network. The solution may be to split the transports according to the rule - on short distances (2-5 or even 10 km) we use either classic or new personal mobility devices like a bicycle, an electric bicycle, a scooter and even rollers. In this situation, the bicycle becomes the most important alternative means of individual transport. Its use also implies improving the physical shape and health condition. Another element is the preference for domestic tourism post-COVID. In such a region as V4 this form of tourism may be crucial in the coming years as long distance flights can be challenging for regular passengers.

This webinar can start the discussion about the future network of roads and priorities within the cities but also between urban areas. New investments should be more focused on user friendly network for bicycles and other personal mobility devices as users are treated as vulnerable and consist the highest number of fatalities in the road safety statistics.
